Sacred music for low brass – V.Gionanidis – tuba sextet / trombone sextet / mixed low brass ensemble

This piece combines the deep, profound sounds of the low brass, in particular the tuba, with the acoustics of a large cathedral. While composing it, I was picturing male bass choir singers (basso profondo), singing sacred psalms with holy texts in a church.
If you have the chance to perform this piece in a hall with long reverb, idealy in a church, the colors of the low brass ensemble will fascinate the audience.
